Background: Here's some news of a book about D-Day which author Lorie Coffey is writing, with reference to HMS Diadem's role in preparing the way for the Normandy Landings: "My name is Lorie Coffey and I am part of Project 70 which is a group of people planning events for the 70th Anniversary of D Day. As part of this I am writing a book about D Day and all the proceeds from this will go towards the funds needed for the Normandy Memorial to hopefully be erected at the National Arboretum next year. "In doing my research I came across your website about your grandfather and I am writing to request your permission to reproduce some of it in the book. It's fascinating and I am sure others would love to read it. I find it very moving indeed. "The book will be out in time for Christmas.
